Job Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) invites dedicated and
disciplined professionals to apply for the position of Correctional
Officer. As a vital part of the federal law enforcement community,
you will be entrusted with the security, oversight, and management
of inmates in federal correctional facilities. These positions are
challenging yet rewarding, providing opportunities to foster
stability and positive outcomes in controlled environments. Enforce
rules, regulations, and laws within federal correctional facilities
to maintain order. Supervise activities of inmates, ensuring
compliance with institutional policies. Inspect facilities for
contraband, safety hazards, and security breaches. Escort inmates
within the facility and oversee visits and recreational activities.
Prepare reports on inmate conduct and facility operations. Respond
to emergencies, including altercations and health crises. Strong
interpersonal and communication skills for effectively dealing with
various personalities. Ability to react calmly and decisively in
high-stress situations. Physical fitness to handle the demands of
24/7 facility operations and emergencies. Analytical skills to
assess situations quickly and apply problem-solving techniques.
