Position: Project Manager- Mechanical Division Position Summary The
Project Manager is responsible for effectively overseeing and
managing the successful construction of Scout Mechanical HVAC
related projects in accordance with engineered or client
specifications. The successful candidate will possess the ability
to manage multiple projects while maintaining accurate record
keeping, providing weekly progress updates to the Mechanical
Division Manager, and excellent client communication. The Project
Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of material,
sub-contractors, and labor to ensure timely and efficient project
completion. The ideal candidate will support Project Foreman and
field teams with plan sets, submittals, or other supporting
documentation as needed. Key Responsibilities Plan Review and
Submittals Review plans with estimators to ensure accurate and
cost-effective proposals are submitted within a timely manner to
meet customer deadlines. Ensure methods and means to build the
project as established during the estimating phase and align with
customer expectations. Strong emphasis on building relationships
with client Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foreman. Conduct
site visits with Pre-construction Team prior to projection
inception to identify site conditions, special equipment needs,
non-standard hours, or other unique requirements. Work closely with
Estimators on project narratives or proposed SOW to establish labor
requirements, value engineering opportunities, and potential
scheduling conflicts. Excellent vendor communication to ensure
accurate submittals, shipping schedules, and pricing. Field Support
Facilitate preconstruction meetings with Project Foreman and
Estimators to ensure all elements of the job have been reviewed and
planned before the start of the project to ensure a high level of
safety, quality, and performance can be achieved. Plan the
procurement of materials with the project schedules to ensure
materials arrive just in time to job sites. Work closely with Scout
Warehouse Manager to ensure materials requiring warehouse storage
are planned appropriately and labelled accurately. Ensure field
teams have rental equipment, cranes, sub-contractors, or other
needs scheduled to align with project timelines. Ensure field teams
have submittals, drawings, and project plan guides prior to project
start. Job Progress and Closeout Track and document change orders
that arise during projects. Ensure COs are captured in the G703
template. Perform site visits during construction to ensure safety
compliance, quality construction methods, and provide field team
support as required. Ensure progress billings are accurate and
properly reflect job progress and costs incurred. Accurately
monitor, track, and maintain records/reporting of all materials
utilized and remaining. Maintain job plans, submittals, and other
pertinent information for Field Teams to access. Closely monitor
job progress with Project Foreman. Provide weekly project updates
to Division Manager to include costs incurred, change orders,
completion status and schedule adherence. Provie clients with all
applicable closeout documents in a timely manner. This may include
submittals, red line drawings, warranty information, and product
instructions. Conduct final walkthrough of project with appropriate
client representation to ensure satisfactory completion of all
scopes of work. Job Qualifications Minimum of 5 years Project
Management experience in Commercial or Industrial Construction.
Mechanical/HVAC experience a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office
Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to travel up
to 50% to project sites located primarily withing the upstate of
SC. Experience with engineering software platforms such as Procore,
PlanGrid, Bluebeam, etc. Professional level communication skills.
OSHA safety certification highly preferred or willingness to
obtain. Valid drivers license and clean driving record must be
maintained. Proven track record of successful Project Management.
