DescriptionRolling Stock MechanicGeorgia Pacific in Madison Georgia is seeking a ROLLING STOCK MECHANIC to be responsible for troubleshooting all diesel- and gas-powered rolling stock, performing repairs and preventive maintenance according to a structured scheduling system while maintaining a clean, safe working environment. The candidate should demonstrate self-motivation and team building skills. They must have experience with computers and performing a variety of mechanical tasks including welding and fabrication on all types of equipment. To learn more about our Building Products division, visit www.buildgp.com.To learn more about our Building Products division, visit www.buildgp.com/plywood-osbWhat You Will Do In Your RoleTroubleshoot all diesel and gas powered rolling stockPerform repairs according to the scheduling systemRegular preventative maintenance on rolling stock equipmentRequires skills in mobile equipment hydraulics, air and mechanical brake systems, drive train systems, mobile equipment electrical systems and tire and steering systemsPerform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy and high-volume environmentThe Experience You Will BringRequirements:All candidates must have a H.S. diploma or equivalent.1 plus years' experience as a heavy equipment mechanicMust be able to work safely, following company policies and practices including lock out tag out procedures and wearing all required personal protective equipment.Must be able to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics related to mobile equipment.Must have skills relating to diagnosis and rebuild of power train components including internal combustion engines, transmissions and final drive components.Must have welding and fabrication experience and be able to affect major structural repair on mobile equipment.Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays when required.All candidates must be team oriented, motivated and actively participate in and promote a safe working environment.Must be able and willing to work safely in a hot, humid, cold, noisy, dusty manufacturing environment.Must possess own tools.What Will Put You Ahead3 years documented experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.Associate degree or trade school equivalent.Our goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
