This is a one year contract-to-hire role. There is some flex to work remotely when able, but they need someone onsite in Athens regularly.For immediate consideration, email a copy of your resume to Jenny DeMaria at jdemaria@apexsystems.com and reference Job ID #1323863.Job Description:The Senior Automation Engineer is a technical-strategic, high-impact role, powering the key element of the Automation (Execution Systems - ES) group - Project Delivery.As a successful candidate, you bring automation expertise as Domain Specialist in Process/Distributed Control Systems; you provide project leadership for sophisticated automation solution designs and implementations for complex production and processing challenges and technological advancement opportunities.Duties & Responsibilities:Lead the execution of automation projects, to achieve business goals, meet production schedules and realize value. Own timely delivery of project work, budget, plan, and documentation.Ensure that computerized systems are fit for the intended use and aligned with applicable laws throughout the entire system life cycle.Build and transfer knowledge to the Team, Users and Maintenance teams.Develop functional, system and business strategies, roadmaps and capabilities related to ES. Lead cost-benefit and priority determination of ES projects and initiatives.Work closely with colleagues from Operations, Logistics, Safety, Facilities, or Quality in the identification of business opportunities or needs. Proficiently partner with external contract companies and suppliers.In a collaborative role, we may invite our new colleague to support additional (ad-hoc, optional) automation responsibilities:Support the development of our Automation Network, Process Analytical Tools (PAT), Data Integrity (DI), or cybersecurity.Study, adopt and build traction for efficient emerging technologies, challenge the status quo and drive improvement).Improve coordinative capabilities as part of our strong, variateAutomation Team:Enhance your proven record in project delivery, organizational change, and engineering, including design, construction, commissioning and qualification, project hand-over and start-up.Take ownership to optimally deliver and contribute to smaller regional projects and larger global programs, while maintaining oversight and zooming into detail as required.Independently plan and prioritize work to ensure completion of multiple projects running in parallel.Infuse our group with the following values:Deploy collaborative leadership for multi-functional teams, as well as contribute to the individual development of colleagues within the department.Focus on our customers with delivery excellence in mind, amplified by continuous and proactive communication.Be responsible for effective decision making and problem-solving, powered by integrity and an innovative driveRequirements:A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in industrial automation, information technology or similar engineering subject area is required.A minimum of 6 years of practical & industrial experience.Deploy Control Systems expertise: infrastructure, design (Hardware / Software), with an advantage for life sciences expertise.Preferred Skills:Knowledge in OSI-PI/historians and PI Asset Framework.Six Sigma/Lean, PMP, MAMC certifications.Project management experience.Thorough working knowledge of structured methodologies for software engineering, applications, and manufacturing systems such as PLC (Rockwell family) controllers and interfaces.Experience in GxP, GMP, regulated environment, FDA 21 CFR part 11.Top 5 Requirements:6+ years experience (engineering or project mgmt.)Emerson DeltaV experienceRockwell PLC experience (preferably SLC and CLX)Significant GMP Qualification/Validation experienceGeneral electrical and controls knowledge#LI-JD10EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
