Lake Foods, Inc. is hiring a full time Director of Purchasing to join our locally owned company. We are a rapidly growing poultry processor located in Hartwell, GA, only 40 minutes from Anderson, SC, 45 minutes from Athens, GA and 1 hour from Greenville, SC. This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and indirectly to the Financial Controller and has one direct report (Purchasing Associate). Lake Foods offers Medical, Dental, Vision, Accidental & Life Insurance as well as a 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match.To be successful in this role, you will need: excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong leadership and negotiation skills; experience in manufacturing or warehousing; experience with an accounting program or ERP (we use NetSuite); a superior history maintaining a balanced budget. Responsibilities:* Design purchasing strategies to ensure constant availability of inventory within budgetary restrictions.* Maintain database of current and potential suppliers and cultivate working relationships to ease the process of acquiring new materials.* Involvement with senior leadership in supplier contract negotiation.* Evaluate quality, price, reliability, technical support, and availability of goods and services.* Manage buying process of goods and services.* Complete weekly budgetary reports. * Responsible for inventory management (at the accounting level) and internal auditing (packaging, ingredients, chemicals, personal protective equipment, plant supplies, etc.).On occasion Saturday hours may become necessary in which case an incentive bonus may be paid.Requirements:* 4 year college degree in business, accounting, engineering, or related area.* 5 years professional experience in a purchasing-related role.* Experience in manufacturing or warehousing, particularly in fast-paced environments.* Auditing experience is preferred, but not required.Lake Foods, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.When submitting a resume for this position, I understand that this information may be used to create a registration with the Georgia Department of Labor on Employ Georgia.#CBSC Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Experience: 60 Months Special Requirements: Applicant Must -have 5 years of experience in a purchasing related role.
