Manufacturing Quality Manager
1st Shift Opening
Salary Exempt
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Manage associates in Quality within manufacturing plant
Serve on the Anderson Plant Leadership Team (APLT)
Assist QA associates when issues require support or approval of a
member of APLT
Determine priorities for special projects to be worked on by
Quality Systems
Keep the APLT informed of issues affecting plant quality and
audits
Participate in other functions required of APLT members
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree or Extensive Manufacturing experience
Be computer literate especially in I 5, Microsoft Outlook, Word
Excel
Have a good knowledge of machine capabilities in Preparation,
Weaving and Finishing departments
Must have a good background in math
Must be able to meet deadlines and maintain good communications
with management and associates
Must be self- motivated
Experience in Manufacturing synthetic fabrics including sectional
processing, warping, slashing,
entering, weaving, finishing and lab functions
Ability to communicate to hourly associates and all levels of
management
Have knowledge of statistical process control and 6 sigma,
preferably to Black Belt Level
Have good understanding of ISO/AS9100 requirements
Have Lead Auditor Training
Knowledge of problem- solving tools such as Poka-Yoke, Cause and
Effect Diagrams, DOE's, Etc.
Working knowledge of JMP
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain Plant ISO/AS9100 Certification as required
Conduct associate training on QS
Manage Preventive Action Requests
Oversee QS Coordinator functions
ICAR System
Data Collection
RA System
Logging of QB's
Internal Auditing
Lead Quality/Communication Quarterly Meeting
Oversee of Quality Information bulletin board updating
Oversee all aspects of AQMS
Oversee all aspects of off Quality reporting
Oversee plant ISO/AS9100 certification
Maintain status as an internal auditor
Assist with trials and specific quality issues as needed
Coordinate any process changes with training, follow through to
verify all required changes made
Oversee Inspection department /QA Personnel responsible for the
disposition of potential off quality or nonconforming material.
Oversee processing and communication of all customer returns. Visit
vendors and/or customers as needed to maintain open communications
concerning quality demands.
Maintain SharePoint software system
Initiate and Maintain Lean /5S within Department.
Perform 5S activities to maintain a safe, organized work
environment.
Participate in Lean initiatives including, but not limited to Tier
boards and Kaizen events.
Has full responsibility for, and serves as the final authority for
the disposition of off quality
or nonconforming material.
Additional Qualifications
The successful candidate will present superior collaboration and
communication skills, conflict management capabilities, and strong
executive presence/composure. He/she will demonstrate a strong
process orientation and a track record of successfully improving
the Quality function's operations and efficiency.
