Why choose Athens, GA?
Athens, Georgia, is conveniently located about 70 miles east of
Atlanta, and with a relatively mild climate, Athens has a lot of
great things to offer year-round. Are you someone who likes
spending time outdoors, art, music, theater, or discovering new
eateries? Athens offers something to do for everyone! Many enjoy
the iconic music scenes at numerous venues or the world-class
restaurants with southern comfort food with innovative
farm-to-table menus. Bishop Park is a great place to bring the
family to enjoy the pool and playground. If biking is your jam,
Dudley Park connects two bike trails, the Firefly Trail, and the
North Oconee Greenway.
Over the years, Athens has also experienced exponential growth in
the medical community with the opening of the Medical School of
Georgia Athens Campus and the initiation of its vibrant residency
program. Athens is considered one of the best places to live

high overall quality of life. Clarke County School District serves
Athen's students with fourteen elementary schools, four middle

Athen's charming neighboring Oconee County home, about a 10-minute
commute to UCBC's main campus, and have an outstanding school
system.
