DescriptionPiedmont AthensGen Surg-TraumaPart time Day shift
7am-7pmSign on Bonus available $$New Specialty Med Surg
Differential $The surgery unit has 29 beds. Our dynamic patient
population includes surgical, trauma and a variety of medical
patients. Our surgeries typically involve the neck to the gut. This
population includes GI surgeries such as colon resections, small
bowel resections, cholecystectomies and appendectomies. We also
care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and
maxillofacial procedures, etc. Patients may have an ostomy, NGT
and/or other feeding tube and/or drains. Trauma patients may have
multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomy and/or other drains,
but have stabilized enough for a non-ICU/step down med-surg floor
admission. We are a level 2 trauma center.Come join our energetic

care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing
processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for
patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and
procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth
and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining
standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all
assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing
care.QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of a nursing
programMinimum Experience RequiredNew Graduates of a nursing
program eligibleMinimum Licensure/Certification Required By
LawCurrent License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or
NLC/eNLC Multistate License.BLS certification required.Additional
QualificationsFor PRN positions: One year of nursing experience in
a hospital setting preferredBachelors degree preferredAdvanced
certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see
addendum)
