The Physicians Assistant works with a variety of healthcare professionals/security officers in a correctional environment to provide basic medical services supervised by a licensed Physician.NURSE PRACTITIONER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician.Implements medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a Physician.Provides education to inmate/patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.Documents all healthcare contacts.Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
