Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary equipment. Assist surgeons during operative procedures, maintaining aseptic technique at all times. Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort. Handle specimens and coordinate with pathology/lab departments. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of procedures, instruments used, and patient records in EPIC (or equivalent system). Sterilize and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and OR equipment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for case planning and workflow efficiency. Adhere to all hospital protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA, AORN). Requirements: For OR Techs : Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program; CST certification preferred. For RNs : Active Georgia RN license; BSN preferred. BLS and ACLS certification (required). Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience in a high-acuity hospital setting. Familiarity with general, orthopedic, cardiovascular, neuro, and trauma surgical cases. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in Level I Trauma Center. Proficiency in EPIC charting system.
