years experience License: ARRT (R) Certifications: ACLS, BLS
Must-Have: Experience in scrubbing, monitoring, and assisting in
recovery, as well as preparation and sheath pulls. Description: The
technologist will work in the procedural area of the cardiac
catheterization lab. They will assist in the recovery process and
may need to perform sheath pulls and patient transport as needed.
The lab operates with three-person teams during the day and has a
four-person STEMI team. Common procedures include left heart
catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions, peripheral
vascular diagnostic procedures, and interventions. Technologists
should be familiar with procedures such as PE thrombectomies,
temporary pacemaker insertions, and device implantations. Equipment
used includes Siemens and Philips X-ray systems, Volcano, FFR/IFR
devices, Shockwave, Angiojet, EKOS, Penumbra, Jetstream, IABP,
Impella, and CSI devices. On-call shifts are typically required,
with expectations of approximately 7 to 10 per month, in addition
to 1 to 2 late stay shifts per month. The work dress code consists
of scrubs.
