Athens is renowned for its arts scene, historic charm, and outdoor recreation—making it an ideal location for healthcare professionals seeking both career growth and lifestyle balance./n /n/nTravel Nursing Job Details – Athens, GA/n /n - Location: Athens, Georgia (30606) – Georgia nursing jobs/n - Assignment Length: 12 weeks/n - Setting: Outpatient Surgery Operating Room (6-bed unit)/n - Shift: Day shifts; 4x10-hour (06:00 - 16:30) or flexible 3x12-hour (Wed, Thurs, Fri 5:30am-6:00pm) or 4x10-hour shifts (6:30am-6:00pm)/n - Hours per Week: 40/n - Patient Population: Pediatrics to Geriatrics/n - Unit Systems: Epic (charting), Pyxis (medication management)/n - Scrub Color: Provided/n - Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend/n - Floating: Required to float to main hospital OR as needed/n - Call Requirements: Yes/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Active GA or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)/n - Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (no first-time travelers)/n - BLS certification required/n - Travel nursing experience required/n - Experience with Epic and Pyxis preferred/n - Ability to provide clinical support for diverse patient populations (pediatric to geriatric)/n - Must be available to work major holidays during assignment/n - Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred/n /n/nOperating Room Nurse Responsibilities/n /n - Deliver circulating nursing care for a wide range of surgical procedures (no scrubbing required)/n - Support service lines including Dental, ENT, General Surgery, Cataracts, Orthopedics, Plastics, GYN, Pediatrics, Neuro, and Podiatry/n - Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio in a 6-bed OR unit with an average daily census of 20/n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Rapid Response, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary/n - Utilize Epic for electronic health record charting and Pyxis for medication management/n - Float to main hospital operating room as needed/n - Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage/n - Ensure compliance with all hospital and facility policies and procedures/n /n/n /n Discover why Athens, GA is a top destination for travel nurses and healthcare professionals.
