be considered. An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse
skilled in step-down care to provide specialized nursing within a
subacute care unit (SCU) setting. This assignment offers the chance
to apply critical care skills in a supportive 8-bed unit with
patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1, ensuring focused,
high-quality care. Location: Augusta, MEan inviting city known for
its rich history, scenic beauty along the Kennebec River, and a
welcoming community atmosphere. Offering a mix of urban amenities
and outdoor activities, it is an excellent place for professional
growth and personal enjoyment. Responsibilities: Deliver
exceptional nursing care to patients in a step-down/intermediate
care setting. Manage complex clinical scenarios involving
ventilators, vasoactive drips, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and
other advanced equipment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain
accurate patient records using EPIC electronic medical records.
Occasionally float to medical-surgical units as required. Adhere to
unit policies including prescribed dress code of navy blue scrubs.
Provide care during either day (6 a.m.6 p.m.) or night (6 p.m.6
a.m.) shifts, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and a minimum of
every other weekend required. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in ICU, SCU, or IMC settings.
Proficiency with ventilators and vasoactive medication management.
Familiarity with patient care equipment such as ceiling lifts,
plumb pumps, and SCD boots. Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and
proactive communication skills. This is a contract position
offering valuable experience in a dynamic clinical environment
without call requirements during core hours. Candidates interested
