Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Prior patient care
experience in ICU settings - Experience with Epic charting system
Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered
Nurse specializing in Critical Care Float. This position requires
floating primarily within ICU but may include all medical-surgical,
telemetry, and progressive care units. The patient population will
include adults to geriatrics. Nurses will be expected to manage a
variety of diagnoses across different units. The patient-to-nurse
ratio in the ICU is typically 1:2-3, while it is 1:4-5 in PCU and
1:5-6 in medical-surgical units. This role does not require call
but does require working every other weekend, with an average of
six weekends over a 13-week contract. If one or two major holidays
occur during the assignment, the nurse is expected to work those
holidays. If three major holidays fall within the assignment, the
nurse is expected to work two of them. Compliance with all required
documentation is necessary to start the position on time.
Candidates are expected to possess skills such as ventilator
management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, and care of
ventilated patients. Additional skills include care for high-flow
nasal cannula patients, infection prevention, and central line
management. The unit will provide interdisciplinary support through
various teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory
services, and pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have a strong
