This community emergency department offers robust physician and APC coverage across all shifts, a strong subspecialty backup network, and competitive compensation with full travel support. Assignment Highlights Location: Aiken, South Carolina Specialty: Emergency Medicine Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Structure: All shifts available Physicians: 7a–4p, 11a–9p, 4p–2a, 9p–7a APCs: 8a–6p, 11a–9p, 6p–4a Coverage Model: Physicians: 40 hours/day APCs: 30–36 hours/day Annual ED Volume: ~40,000 visits Patient Volume: 2–2.3 patients/hour Hospital Beds: 273 | ED Beds: 35 Fast Track: Available Admission Rate: 20–25% Trauma Designation: Transitioning to Level IV (currently non-designated) EMR: Cerner Privileges: Standard credentialing timeline (no temporary privileges noted) Travel: Included Clinical Environment Full range of Emergency Medicine practice across all acuity levels Dedicated ICU with intensivist support Subspecialty backup includes: Anesthesiology, Cardiac Cath, CT Surgery, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology, Radiology, Urology, Vascular Surgery, and more Referral Resources: Trauma (AUMC), Pediatrics (AUMC), Burn (Doctors Hospital) Candidate Requirements Board Certification: ABEM required Licensure: Active South Carolina medical license or willingness to obtain Certifications: ACLS & ATLS required Experience: Minimum 3 years Emergency Medicine preferred Skills: Full-scope EM physician practice, comfortable collaborating with APCs Why This Opportunity?
