SYSTEMS JOB TITLE : Registered Nurse Manager DEPARTMENT : Adult
Crisis Stabilization Unit SCHEDULED HOURS : Varies (every other
weekend off) JOB DESCRIPTION : A. PURPOSE AND SCOPE Provide nursing
care, monitor the condition of individuals and recognize changes in
condition, implement appropriate interventions, provide continuity
of care, and client safety. Schedule, supervise and support staff.
Assist with making decisions regarding the daily functioning of the
CSU including resolving crisis situations and staffing issues/call
offs. Monitor and utilize the BHL Board to maintain unit census.
Assist Program Director as needed with reports and monitoring of
unit and documentation. B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES a. Performs
job responsibilities with minimal supervision b. Serves as job
expert or organization resource in assigned areas c. Supervises and
supports staff d. May administer and transcribe prescribed
medications per medication policies e. Records nursing notes, all
aspects of admissions and discharges, and participates in treatment
team. f. Consults and coordinates with health care team members to
assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans g. Maintains
accurate, detailed reports and client records h. Modifies client
treatment plans as indicated by clients' responses and conditions
i. Observes nurses and clients to ensure that proper nursing care
is provided j. Monitors all aspects of client care, records and
reports symptoms and changes in clients' conditions k. Prepares
clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments. l.
Ensures that stock of supplies is maintained m. Provides health
care, first aid, immunizations and assistance in convalescence and
rehabilitation n. Provides education to client and family o.
Provides training for staff p. Coordinates the activities of the
unit and is responsible for assigning work to the nursing staff q.
Identifies issues or emergencies and responds in a calm and
efficient manner r. Deescalates potentially volatile situations
involving clients or co-workers s. Reports concerns about patient
care, the work environment, or co-worker performance to management
personnel in a timely and accurate manner t. Assists with making
decisions regarding the daily functioning of the CSU including
resolving staffing issues/call offs and complete the staff
schedule. u. Ensures that appropriate staffing levels are
maintained, and maintains a safe working environment v. Monitors
and utilizes BHL Board to maintain an appropriate unit census w.
Reviews all referrals with providers in a timely and accurate
manner x. Communicates any change in bed status, census, and
staffing with Program Director and Region 2 Administration. B.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS a. Reviews and ensures implementation
of all rules/regulations of accrediting, review bodies per
contracts or certifications i.e.; DBHDD, Rules/Regulations of CSU,
CARF, HFR, etc. b. Participates in any external review/audits. c.
Works as a collaborative with Program Director, Medical Director
and outside agencies regarding provision of services. JOB
REQUIREMENTS : A. Education and Training: Current Georgia license
to practice as a registered professional nurse AND One year of
professional nursing experience Preferred Qualifications - 3 years
of Nursing Supervisory experience B. Technical Competencies: 1.
Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills;
knows procedures including developing, implementing and revising
plan of care 2. Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures,
protocols, treatments, standards of care and nurse practice act 3.
Knowledge of the procedures for medication administration and can
administer oral, sublingual, SQ and IM medications; knowledge of
pharmacology 4. Knowledge of immunization regulations and protocols
5. Ability to perform CPR and for some sites, AED 6. Skills in
supervision/leadership, including team leadership, performance
management, training/teaching, decision making and delegation;
knowledge of employee job classifications and responsibilities C.

Follows all policies and procedures regarding dress code f. Follows
all policies and procedures regarding utilization of PTO g. Follows
all policies and procedures regarding professional conduct and
ethics h. Ensures patient referrals are reviewed in a timely manner
on electronic pending board and staffed with physician extender. i.
Ensures census is at full capacity. j. Will ensure all staff on
shift are following policies and procedures. k. Will report any
policy/procedure violations by staff to program director and
