Job Description Position Summary: The Child Therapist provides
specialized mental health services to child survivors of sexual
assault and abuse, offering both immediate crisis intervention and
long-term trauma-focused therapy. Using evidence-based,
developmentally appropriate interventions, this position helps
children process trauma, build resilience, and regain a sense of
safety. The Child Therapist works closely with advocates and the
multidisciplinary team to ensure each survivor receives
comprehensive, survivor-centered care tailored to their unique

individual trauma-focused therapy to child survivors of sexual
assault and abuse. · Conduct clinical assessments to determine
treatment needs and develop individualized therapeutic service
plans. · Utilize evidence-based interventions, such as TF-CBT, play
therapy, and other trauma-informed modalities, tailored to each
child's needs. · Offer crisis intervention and emotional support,
addressing immediate psychological distress. · Maintain regular
case management and follow-up to assess progress and modify
treatment plans as needed. · Record and document all services
provided and outcome measurements in the appropriate case
management system to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and grant
compliance. · Participate in Multidisciplinary Team meetings,
contributing clinical insights to improve coordinated services. ·
Provide information and referrals to additional community resources
that support child survivors. · Maintain accurate and timely
clinical documentation in accordance with grant requirements,
ethical guidelines, and HIPAA regulations. · Track service outputs
and client progress for program evaluation and reporting. · Ensure
compliance with grant requirements and professional licensing
standards. · Attend and complete all required training to maintain
service effectiveness and grant compliance. · Utilize clinical
supervision when necessary to ensure effective treatment of child
victims · Expert witness testimony for the court on the child
victim’s behalf · Assist law enforcement and prosecution with the
preparation of child witnesses · Clinical liaison to other
treatment agencies Qualifications : · Must be a licensed mental
health professional in Texas and hold a license to practice
independently. If the provider does not hold a license to practice
independently, documentation must be submitted demonstrating that
the provider attends supervision with a licensed mental health
professional on a consistent basis and in accordance with the Board
rules (BHEC) of the licensee's discipline Prefer 2 years’ clinical
experience with the population to be served, including proficiency
in play therapy and evidence-based clinical treatments · Knowledge
of sexual assault and advocacy issues · Excellent verbal and
written communication skills · Knowledge of victims' rights · Must
be able to drive to meetings, hospitals, courts, police stations,
social service agencies, and other locations to represent the
center and provide services to victims of sexual assault. ·
Non-judgmental, non-prejudicial, accepting attitude toward other
people regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality, age, or
appearance. · Ability to interact with members of other agencies
with tact and discretion. · Subject to background checks, including
criminal history and DFPS clearances
