Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Outpatient Surgery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 14 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 9 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Days, 4x9hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 13, 2026 - Length: 14 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Surgery position requiring at least one year of OR circulator experience and a GA or compact RN license. Details - Work in an outpatient surgery setting handling cases in retina surgery, total hip/knees, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and podiatry - Serves a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics - Operates in five OR rooms with an average daily census of 18 - Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 - Utilizes Epic for EMR and Pyxis for medication management - Schedule consists of four 9-hour day shifts per week with varied start times (6:00-15:30, 6:30-16:00, 8:00-17:30, 8:30-18:00) - No routine weekends or on-call required, but occasional late stays may be needed based on room closures - Rare floating may occur within scope and facility needs Requirements - Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum of one year operating room circulator experience in the intraoperative setting - Current BLS certification required - Experience with Epic EMR and Pyxis preferred - First-time travelers are accepted - Applicants who have previously worked in this health system must have been away for at least one year before returning as a traveler Additional Information - Provide circulating nursing care for a wide range of surgical specialties - Scrubs are provided by the facility - Must be available to work major holidays during the assignment period based on facility policy - A maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) is allowed, with blackout dates during Spring Break in April - No special scheduling requests are permitted; shift assignments are firm - Must complete full compliance requirements prior to assignment to ensure timely orientation - Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers - Return travelers must have completed a successful assignment outside the health system before being considered if previously ineligible American Traveler Job ID P-672508.
