The Animal Emergency Hospital (Athens, GA) is looking for Part-Time
Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants for Saturday and
Sunday Day Shifts. The ideal candidates must have at least 2 year
of veterinary hospital experience as a veterinary technician or
veterinary assistant. The successful AEH employee has the ability
to be a team player, multitask, quickly prioritize, problem solve,
and handle stressful situations while maintaining a positive
outlook. As part of the AEH team you are expected to provide the
highest level of patient care and client service. Key nursing
skills include but are not limited to proper physical restraint,
venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing (CBC,
chemistry, urinalysis, serology, fecal), drug calculations,
administering medication, fluid therapy, anesthesia monitoring,
making radiographs, maintaining logs, and client servicing.
Excellent written and oral communication, basic math skills and
computer literacy is a must along with a dedication to lifelong
learning and continuous improvement.

Hours of operation:Monday thru Friday: 6 pm to 8 amSaturday: 8 am
to 8 pm (24 hr)Sunday: 8 am to 8 pm (24 hr)Holidays: 8 am to 8 pm
Due to the nature of emergency medicine, flexibility is a must.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Must be flexible to work shifts that can include evenings,
overnights, weekends, and some holidays.
- The ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Has reliable transportation
- Exposure to potential hazards associated with pets and
veterinary care such as bites, scratches, noises, odors, allergens,
animal waste, contagious diseases, biohazards, chemical hazards,
anesthetic agents, and radiation (x-ray).
