Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary The Workforce Planning and Recruitment (WFPR) unit is responsible for managing positions and recruitment across the university. This unit assists departments in creating new positions, hiring staff to fill those positions, reorganizing staff and positions when departments face changes. The WFPR Service Center Team works with other team members and departments to offer a One Stop Shop experience to anyone who needs Human Resources assistance in the area of position management, recruitment & hiring. The Service Center Advisor support the employee life-cycle administration in an HR operations environment including creation, update and maintenance of employee records while providing consistent, high quality customer care and service excellence to all associates. Essential Components: Under the direction of the Director WFPR the Service Center Advisors will be responsible for coordinating the collection, maintenance, and processing of HR/faculty position management and hiring actions; to include UGA---s employment applicant and position management tracking system (UGAJobs), applicant tracking activity, University System Joint Employment, and planning efforts for HR employee data for UGA under the guidance of the university system of Georgia and Board of Regents. This position serves as a key team member of Human Resources professional staff involved in knowledge of the principles and practices of position management, classification, recruitment, hiring and onboarding. This position works with the Position Management/Classification, Recruitment and Hiring areas of Human Resources and will be responsible for working with campus units to recruit and retain employees. Consults with hiring supervisors on employment and classification activities including position postings, background checks, and classification requests. This position also assists with the development and maintenance of the staff classification and compensation system. This is a full-time limited term position ending in December 2020 with potential to become a permanent position. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Classification & Position Management --- Provide end-user support for HR practitioners interacting with Human Resource systems including navigational questions and basic system issue resolution. --- Determine appropriate position classifications for university part-time faculty, limited term faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate students, post-doctoral students, student workers, retire rehires and temporary workers positions by determining the appropriate title and job codes. --- Apply knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and practices regarding USG and UGA guidelines. --- Provide assistance in the creation and or modification for part-time faculty, limited term faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate students, post-doctoral students, student workers and temporary workers. Percentage of time33Duties/Responsibilities Recruitment & Hiring --- Work with HR practitioners/unit Hiring Officials to create Direct Hire requisitions and seat employees into part-time faculty, limited term faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate students, post-doctoral students, student workers and temporary worker positions. --- Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations governing the employment process and ensure hiring is within USG/UGA policy and that AA/EEO guidelines are in sync with the mission and values --- Determine, initiate, review and analyze results related to background investigations. --- Adhere to USG/UGA Policy, federal and state laws related to background investigations. Percentage of time33Duties/Responsibilities Consultative --- To provide information, advice or guidance and support to applicants, managers, supervisors, staff, and faculty; keeping abreast of HR issues, identifying areas of concern, and recommending/implementing solutions. --- Collaborate with team members to provide efficient and effective HR services to the university community, in addition to interpreting policies, procedures, laws, and regulations for departments university-wide. --- Provides a broad range of human resources support to campus and its HR partners through professional and individualized consultations in the area of WFPR regarding recommendation and implementation of enhancements to current HR processes, procedures, and programs. --- Assists campus community with actions including, but not limited to: o Policy and program administration o Compliance with University System of Georgia (USG) and University of Georgia (UGA) policies and procedures; as well as, compliance with federal and state employment laws (i.e.: Affordable Care Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, etc.) Percentage of time34Posting Specific Questions Required fields are indicated with an asterisk ().
