Job Description Job Description Programmer Alternate / Related Job Titles Application Programmer Software Developer Systems Programmer DevOps Programmer Location & Onsite Flexibility Augusta, ME — Onsite Contract Details Position Type: Contract Start: As Soon As Possible Position Overview The Programmer is responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and production support of application code owned by the application team. This role supports new development, enhancements, and production maintenance while collaborating with functional architects, technical leads, and other developers to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements . Key Responsibilities Analyze, design, code, test, and implement application enhancements and fixes Support production issues , maintenance, and ongoing application improvements Participate in structured code reviews and walkthroughs Create and maintain operational and technical documentation Utilize configuration management, debugging, design, and code management tools Schedule and monitor batch and nightly jobs , including recovery as needed Research and troubleshoot issues prior to escalation Support application release installations into production Communicate accurate and timely status updates Work collaboratively within a team-based development environment Estimate effort, manage timelines, and track assigned work Identify, track, and resolve issues, risks, and action items Engage in continuous process improvement initiatives Apply industry best practices and emerging technologies where appropriate Required Technical Skills Groovy Jenkins Pipeline scripting Docker PowerShell Additional Technical & Professional Skills Strong application design and coding expertise Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation Familiarity with operating system performance tuning and diagnostics Ability to work with databases and provide expertise in one or more database environments Experience coordinating work across application development teams Ability to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Programmer / Software Developer Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Benefit: Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401k Retirement Fund About GTT GTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation , a Native American–owned company headquartered in Alaska.
