Job Description:
Burr & Forman LLP seeks a full-time, experienced immigration
paralegal . This role will provide critical support to the firm’s
immigration practice through the preparation, filing, and tracking
of various immigration applications and petitions. The position
will preferably be resident in our Columbia, SC, Charleston, SC,
Greenville SC, Bluffton, SC, or Atlanta, GA office. KEY
CONTRIBUTIONS Prepare visa applications and petitions for business
and employment-based immigration cases. Compile and analyze complex
case facts and documents, prepare reports and other relevant
immigration documents. Maintain and manage case files including
tracking of cases, determining related deadlines, and responding to
status inquiries. Extensive communication with clients,
beneficiaries, attorneys, and government agencies. Draft
immigration correspondence including support letters and other key
documents for attorney review. Other responsibilities as necessary
to deliver bottom-line results and exceptional client service. THE
ESSENTIALS A bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification or degree,
and/or appropriate combination of education/experience. Two years
of immigration experience. Highly organized, detail-orientated,
proactive, and desire to take ownership. Balance competing
priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment,
exercising patience and professionalism during stressful
situations. Work collaboratively as a member of the team and a
variety of audiences. Excellent writing, proofreading, and research
skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint with knowledge of
LawLogix or other immigration software a plus. ADDITIONAL
