Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary The Coordinator will report to and collaborate closely with the Assistant Director for Initiatives in the management and innovation of the University---s new ALL Georgia Scholars program. The ALL Georgia Scholars program will offer a comprehensive network of academic, financial, and other resources to support University students from rural parts of the state---thereby expanding UGA---s land and sea-grant missions by extending the transformative reach of higher education throughout Georgia. Additional information on the program can be found in Recommendation 10 in the 2018 President---s Task Force on Student Learning and Success (bit.ly/2Iq8SK5). Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies ---ability to contribute to the DAE---s Academic Coaching service; ---ability to teach in the DAE---s Student Success Workshops series; and, ---evidence of research agenda associated with student learning or higher education. ---significant practical knowledge of research into rural students, first-year students, or students in transition as well as first generation student development; ---evidence of the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of stakeholders, such as students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external agencies; ---knowledge of student learning outcomes and program evaluation; ---knowledge of programming and organizational strategies and their application in the higher education setting; ---evidence of the ability to work in a collaborative, high-energy workplace; ---evidence of excellent written, oral, and/or visual communication skills; and, ---flexibility of work during peak program hours, including some nights and weekends. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Manage program support for the ALL Georgia Scholars Program including, but not limited to: Planning effective workshops focused on academic success skills and campus resources; providing academic coaching one on one for scholars; coordinating mentoring program; providing full pipeline of assistance from first-year entry through fourth-year exit; tracking scholars--- academic progress, supplying direct intervention and support when needed; Percentage of time40Duties/Responsibilities Lead collaborations with a wide range of partners (various units mentioned above as well as the Colleges and Schools) on programming; and collaborating with other units to plan welcome reception and events. Percentage of time20Duties/Responsibilities Assist in program management for the Freshman College Summer Experience including, but not limited to: coordinate recruitment efforts to diversify the student population; manage application process; provide programmatic support for scholars during the summer; assist in planning post-program events. Percentage of time20Duties/Responsibilities Contribute program support for various other scholars programs within the Division of Academic Enhancement including, but not limited to: Georgia Commitment Scholars program, Kellogg Scholars program, and forthcoming Scholars programs.
