The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to
fill a Career Coordinator position in the Jobs For Georgia Unit at
Taliaferro County School, GA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general supervision, coordinates and implements a
school-to-career transition program, requiring local travel
Identifies participants (high school students) who have multiple
personal and academic barriers who meet established criteria for
Provides job development and placement assistance.
Provides extensive follow up services.
Maintains documentation and monitors program effectiveness.
Promotes program within the school and the community.
Conducts oral/written presentations.
Maintains knowledge of current hiring trends and professional
Operates in compliance with national program guidelines, state
policies and procedures and federal, state and local rules and
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to the
minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
Three years of experience teaching and certification in Business
Education or School Counseling, planning program/classroom
activities, and/or providing guidance to students with multiple
personal and academic barriers in a secondary educational
Experience working independently
Experience planning, writing and implementing individual service
Experience or training entering information into a mainframe
system or entering information into a word processing, spreadsheet
or database program
Strong leadership skills to positively influence and motivate
Accomplishments which demonstrate an ability to develop local
industry and business interest in program graduates
Accomplishments which demonstrate an exceptional ability to
anticipate problems and resolve them creatively
