Specific Job Duties:
Set-up and develop Plastic Omnium's painting process window for 2K
prime, waterborne base coats, and 2K clear coats.
Support process and maintenance activities consistent with
departmental expectations and goals.
Operate paint process and application equipment in accordance with
established control plans in order to satisfy the customer quality
standards and delivery schedule.
Participate in the development of robotic path motions and
operating parameters for the introduction of new products and the
continuous improvement of existing programs to optimize transfer
efficiency and improve cycle times within the guidelines of the
control plans and customer quality standards.
Actively pursue without direction the reduction of all defects
associated with BMW Business Units goals
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions utilizing error proofing
techniques to prevent the occurrence of any non conformities
relating to the product, process and/or quality system through
Provide technical support to track data for paint cost per square
foot by robot program.
Identify, communicate and document any difficulties relating to the
product, process and/or quality system as per Plastic Omnium ISO-TS
Verify implementation and effectiveness of recommended solutions. -
Update control plan as per ISO-TS 16949 protocol.
Develop, implement, verify and document parameter settings for all
paint process and application equipment to maintain the specified
quality standards detailed in the control plans for all
Verify and calibrate paint process and application equipment as
directed in the total productive maintenance plan to ensure the
accuracy and repeatability of the painting process.
Track, record and prepare management reports detailing process
capability and trend analyses of key parameters as directed by the
Paint Technical Manager.
Coordinate with the Paint Technical Manager and other paint line
personnel in the completion of process related projects and
improvements as directed by the Paint Technical Manager.
Communicate and cooperate with paint suppliers on usage
optimization, formulation compatibility, paint performance and

performance data on new technology tested in the painting

processes and products to ensure optimization of system
Actively participate in continuous improvement teams as assigned by
the Paint Technical Manager.
Train personnel as directed by the Paint Technical Manager in the
operation of process equipment and procedures in accordance to the
established control plan.
Assist in the development and maintenance of PFMEA's, control plans
and ISO-TS16949 documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Previous automotive Class A finishing and robotic experience.
Experience with industrial control, computer technology and

High School Diploma/GED
Must be computer literate on the Windows platform.
Must pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Point Hue Test Annually
