Ethicon Inc. (6045) is currently recruiting for a Monofilament
Preformer Lead located in our Cornelia, GA site.JOB
SUMMARYResponsible for using equipment for the assembly and
processing tasks to produce finished products according to
established specifications. Accountable for adhering to all quality
and safety guidelines.Safely and efficiently execute daily tasks
related to the production of absorbable Startafix suture in
accordance with process specifications and procedures. Typical
tasks include Preform, rack winding, annealing, scouring,
bulkspooling and inspection.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESUnder limited
supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state
and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson,
procedures and guidelines, this position:Sets up production
equipment to produce subassemblies or finished products.Ensures
production equipment is properly set up.Checks products on assembly
line to confirm that they are properly assembled and remove
defective products.Compiles records and reports on quality
inspection results.Cleans, maintains and performs basic repairs on
equipment as needed.Schedules maintenance and/or repairs on
equipment as directed.Prepares accurate records/documentation
related to quality, work in progress, test results, and special
projects.Troubleshoots production problems.Reports and documents
unresolved production problems.All of the essential functions
listed for Monofilament Preformer Operator (PG 21) plus the
following:Provides central leadership and coordination for
manufacturing operations within the Stratafix department.Serves as
Subject Matter Expert in all Stratafix processes.Work in team
environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.Comply with
all federally regulated programs.Adhere to J&J environmental
and safety policies and guidelines.Comply with all job specific
safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.Comply with
quality system requirements as defined within procedures and
instructions.Use microscope and measurement equipment as
specified.Oversee and coach associates through basic performance
problemsCoordinate and lead day-to-day activities in the production
manufacturing area as necessary, in alignment with immediate or
direct supervision.Responsible for delivering departments outputs
daily for assigned shiftMonitor assigned area and reallocate
resources as necessary to meet schedule requirements within the
department.Collaborate with Supervisor on all department
performance and operator issues, coordinating priorities with other
shift Leads.Train New personnel in the area.Support projects and
validations as needed.Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance
of the department.Prepare weekly staffing plan for the area.Order
Raw Materials to warehouse as needed.Leads Crossover
meetings.Promotes a safety focused culture and the Good Saves
program within his Shift.Ensures that employees within shift are
adhering to GMPs, GDPs and acting in accordance to their process
specifications.Responsible for ensuring sustainability of the 6S
program.Responsible for maintaining all assigned work areas safe,
clean and in good operating conditionOpens work orders if repairs
are required in the facilities or the equipment.Reports any
associates who are not behaving in accordance with the J&J
established policies to the Line Facilitator or Manufacturing
Manager as applicable.Escalates any major safety, quality or
equipment downtime situation to the Shift - Line Facilitator or the
Manufacturing Manager as applicable.Demonstrates leadership
qualities. Create and actively pursue a team-based, non-threatening
environment designed to promote teamwork and open exchange of
ideas. Ensure cross shift participation. Frequently identify and
communicate progress and areas of improvement to team
members.Demonstrates consistently effective job performance that
encompasses good quality and quantity of work, and
dependability.Communicates problems and potential solutions to
supervisor, technician, engineer and incoming production
shiftsResponsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with
all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and
proceduresInterprets instructions and specifications and uses to
set up equipment.Checks products on assembly line to confirm that
they are properly assembled and removes defective products.Cleans
and maintains equipment as needed.Prepares accurate
records/documentation related to quality and work in progress.
Troubleshoots minor production problems.Executes and monitors
manufacturing processes according to operational
procedures.Participates in projects focused on process development
and/or improvement, cost controls and new product
manufacturing.Performs equipment maintenance, conditioning,
standardization and calibration as needed.Handles, stores and
disposes of hazardous and nonhazardous materials incompliance with
company policy and regulatory requirements.Handles chemicals
appropriately using required safety equipment.Participates in the
execution of validation/revalidation protocols.Performs other
duties assigned as neededResponsible for communicating business
related issues or opportunities to next management levelFor those
who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that
subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health,
Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to
do so are available and in good condition, if applicableResponsible

neededQualificationsEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma
RequiredGenerally, Requires 4-6 Years work experience in a
manufacturing environmentStratafix manufacturing experience across
all process steps is preferredREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,
ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONSGeneral Math
Skills required (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division,
Averages, Rounding etc.)Ability to work cooperatively with
coworkers and management.Ability to perform duties in accordance
with policies and procedures.Computer skills.Knowledge of LIMS,
JDE, CAMSTAR & other MES Systems is preferredExcellent
communication and interpersonal relation skills.Statistical and
analytical problem-solving ability.Basic math skills: add,
subtract, multiply, divide, percentages.Ability to use measuring
devices such as micrometers, scales and balances, calculators,
tachometers, computer, and Instron test units.Knowledge of
extrusion operations desirable.Ability to use basic hand
tools.Ability to work independently without continuous
supervisionGeneral inspection skills.Ability to maintain accurate
records.Capable of innovative thinking to resolve problems and
recommend corrective actions.High level of attention to
detailManual dexterity and ability to work with small and intricate
