Safety and Training Specialist
SUMMARY:
The Safety and Training Specialist will provide training process
design by post or task, administer specific training, test post
proficiency, drive process improvement, and ensure the facility
supports and maintains a consistent training culture.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in Safety or Training
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Customer and client-focused
- Strong time-management skills
- Excellent leadership skills while remaining team oriented
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Willingness and capacity to travel for training and development
on occasion
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, bend, stoop,
climb, kneel, crouch, lift 75 pounds, read written documents with
near visual acuity, utilize depth perception and wide field of
vision when operating vehicles, and continuously mount and dismount
vehicles
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safety:
- Provide applicable Safety Data during pre-shift meetings
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation training for associates
- Perform Safety GEMBA walks throughout the facility
- Audit off-shift team safety
- Observe behavioral-based and power industrial truck
processes
- Provide continuous training efforts to maintain OSHA compliance
and improve the safety culture
- Facilitate monthly safety training and annual OSHA compliance
training
- Respond to incidents and perform needed investigations
- Provide containment as needed
- Administer the recertification process
- Oversee post-accident reports and drug testing
- Facilitate random drug testing
- Maintain safety information on the Site Communication
Board
- Ensure associate compliance with dress code and MAU policies
regarding PPE
- Assist with Security compliance and suspension of
employees
- Training:
- Update and improve post-specific process training
documents
- Administer post-specific training in a controlled and
consistent manner
- Ensure post-training is documented to customer and MAU
standards
- Verify that training documentation is current and accurate for
all assigned personnel
- Assist in providing documentation for customer audit
verification
- Perform annual reviews and recertification of personnel on
post-training requirements
- Administer forklift certification processes
- Assist the Safety Team Lead with OSHA-required safety
training
- Document training, update training matrix, and perform Powered
Industrial Equipment training validation
- Provide coaching to all associates
- Assist with site-wide communications related to policy changes
and deployment
- Participate in site POD communication processes
- Lead single-point lessons, training topics of the month, and
problem-solving events for training defects
- Validate Production Post and Powered Industrial Equipment
training
- Maintain updated cross-training matrix
- Document all training within Bullhorn
- Serve as a witness for attendance, work performance, and
conduct counseling sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
