This and other physician jobs brought to you by DocCafe.com Lead Psychiatrist Position The University of Georgia (UGA) University Health Center Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) department seeks a Lead Psychiatrist who will be administratively responsible for oversight and provision of outpatient psychiatric services for the UGA student body, as well as supervision of psychiatric staff and a clinic assistant. The psychiatrist in this position will also provide expert consultation to staff throughout the Health Center and participate in Medical Staff oversight of safety and quality in care provision. A variety of services are available to the student body and the UGA campus community: · Psychiatric services· Short-term individual and couples counseling· Group counseling· Crisis intervention· Transition of care to community resources for student who require or prefer ongoing or long-term support· Programs and workshops· Consultation to the UGA campus community regarding mental health and wellness, crisis situations, referrals to CAPS, suicide prevention, and promoting campus safety. CAPS is located within the fully Joint Commission accredited University of Georgia Health Center (UHC). Psychiatric care is provided by a team of approximately three psychiatrists, two psychiatric nurse practitioners, and by clinicians within the primary care medical home setting. UHC is a unit of UGA Student Affairs and is staffed by over 280 employees, including 16 physicians with board certifications or board eligibility in internal medicine, family medicine, sports medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and gynecology. UHC features four primary care clinics and a variety of specialty care clinics including women's health, sports medicine, allergy/travel medicine, dermatology, vision care, dental care, and physical therapy. Supporting services include pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology departments.
