These projects may entail laboratory and/or clinical research. Individuals in this position operate as part of a team of departmental technicians serving large department of faculty researchers. Project specific duties will vary with individual principal investigator and project.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:Read and develop basic understanding of research project protocols. Existing knowledge or willingness to learn handling and restraint of multiple species of animals. Effective communication skills. Demonstrate critical thinking skills while carrying out instructions. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, while providing consultation to a variety of stakeholders. Maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanor throughout stressful situations. Accept constructive criticism. For additional information about the credit check criteria, visit the website.Duties/Responsibilities:Organize and assist in implementation of research projects including data collection and project management. Read and develop basic understanding of research project protocols. Maintain accurate records with every aspect of research projects. Prepare data reports. Proper disposal of biohazard waste. Perform inventory, and provide basic maintenance and ordering of research supplies and equipment. Work with multiple investigators within the department. Job duties will vary with each investigator and project.Percentage of time:40Duties/Responsibilities:Animal care includes daily monitoring of physical health/well-being, administering treatments, and management. Coordinate clinical trials involving client-owned cases. Individual may be provided training and immediate supervision for the following duties. Animal restraint. Collection of blood by venipuncture, and urine by expression, cystocentesis, or catheterization. Collection and preparation of tissue, cellular, or microbiological samples. Perform routine laboratory test procedures. Assist in radiology including patient positioning, image processing, and safety. Ability to perform intravenous and arterial catheterization. Administration and application of treatments, drugs, fluids, medications and immunological agents by oral, parenteral and injectable routes. Clinical health record keeping.Percentage of time:20Duties/Responsibilities:Individual may be provided training and immediate supervision for the following duties. Provide introduction and maintenance of anesthesia. Perform various procedures such as but not limited to euthanasia, surgical assistance, and resuscitative procedures. Prepare operating room, instruments, and animal for sterile surgery.Percentage of time:20Duties/Responsibilities:Professionally communicate with investigators, sponsors, and colleagues concerning the affected work flow, time limitations, and project status. Work with multiple investigators on multiple projects within the department. Perform other reasonable tasks requested by supervisor.Percentage of time:20
