Job Description:
Position Summary This position sets overall direction to all
aspects of quality including Quality Management Systems plus the
assurance of robust supplier, product and process quality that
meets customer quality expectations. This leadership role achieves
this through successful associate engagement and development that
monitors progress against short and long-range plans and deploys
improvements that achieve quality objectives, meet customer
specifications, and improve overall profit. This role is
accountable for developing and implementing site level quality
strategies and alignment of these to the BorgWarner Quality
Strategy, including the use of Leading Indicators and focus on best
practices. They encourage and support associate participation at
all levels in the resolution of product quality problems and
promote positive Company-oriented culture towards quality.Key Roles
& ResponsibilitiesStandard Duties :To perform this job

Evaluate and develop the performance of the Quality Team to
facilitate performance feedback, develop talent for successorship
or broadening experience with lateral assignments. Develop and
implement strategic projects through the quality team and other
internal stakeholders to continually improve the overall quality of
products, processes and services to customers. Coordinate and
manage continuous improvement activities through the quality team
and other internal stakeholders related to quality including,
Kaizen events, Shainin / Six Sigma projects, and other
problem-solving activities. Utilize FMEA (RPN) as a tool for
evaluation of risk for prioritization. Drive error-proofing
solutions at the source to bring improvement or address issues.
Analyze organizational Quality metrics and perform Management
Reviews (including FMEA reviews) to evaluate results and recommend
countermeasures to close gaps at the operational level. Interface
with customers, suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders
regarding Quality in both the plant and at customer / supplier
locations. Facilitate customer Quality audits and inspections as
appropriate. Lead plant Supplier Quality Development and
Engineering activities to ensure the incoming Quality of purchased
parts. Lead site lab and process / product measurement activities
(gaging) to ensure the Quality of incoming and in-process parts.
Provide Quality leadership and support in development of new
products, processes, and services. Support the implementation of,
participation with or lead Business Unit (BU) level or cross-BU
Quality initiatives including BU senior leadership interface.
Manage the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of a
Quality Management System to comply with the published plant
Quality Manual and IATF 16949 requirements with regular audit and
evaluation of its effectiveness including a robust training process
to assure understanding. Act as the management representative
managing IATF 16949 certification activities including authority on
IATF 16949 requirements. Lead and coordinate between Engineering,
Sales, and plant operations to ensure a systematic process is in
place for warranty that maximizes customer resolution at a minimum
cost. Lead and work with engineering to improve, implement, and
manage a product warranty system that provides feedback to
responsible departments and assures permanent corrective action
through FMEA update and implementation. Develop and maintain an
appropriate departmental budget and ensure the operation of the
Quality Department within budget.Knowledge/Skills Formal training,
experience, and/or certification in problem solving tools and
techniques (corrective and preventive action, 5-why analysis,
fishbone/ Ishikawa diagrams, error-proofing/ poka-yokes). Quality
Management System knowledge and experience (IATF 16949). Identify,
evaluate, and implement cost effective resolution of complex
Quality issues arising in product design, materials, and
manufacturing processes. Rapid response to permanently resolve
customer product issues. Facilitate containment actions, including
support of Field Campaigns, to replace suspect materials shipped
over a period which minimizes impact to customer operations.
Understand key business concepts (budgets/ Long Range Plan, ROI,
markets, customers, business forecasts) and utilizes them in
developing strategies and key initiatives. Prefer ASQ, CQE or CMQOE
certification. Prefer Shainin Red X experience or Six Sigma
Blackbelt certification. Experience in an automotive manufacturing
environment with both machining and assembly is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred with additional
Business Degree (ideal).Additional Information: Travel is
occasionally required, up to 15% of the time.Safety and Physical
Requirements: All employees are responsible for knowing,
understanding, and complying with the safety policies and
procedures. Wear PPE when appropriate in designated campus areas.
Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. on occasion.Key Competencies

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum twelve years' experience in Quality, Engineering or related
role is required. Minimum seven years of leadership experience with
multiple direct reports is required. Proven ability to effectively
solicit, develop, organize, and communicate ideas, recommendations
and project status Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and travel
