Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for
a Medical Surgical ICU position requiring Epic proficiency and at
least 1 year of ICU experience, with day shifts and
every-other-weekend availability. Details - Medical Surgical ICU
setting in a hospital environment - Adult to geriatric patient
population - Patient diagnoses include sepsis/septic shock,
respiratory failure, post-cardiac arrest, GI bleed/hemorrhagic
shock, DKA, acute kidney injury, complicated surgical cases,
pulmonary edema/embolism, drug overdose, hypertensive emergencies,
cardiac arrhythmias, rhabdomyolysis, metabolic encephalopathy, and
malignant neoplasms - Procedures and therapies include CRRT, TTM,
chest tubes, bronchoscopies, lumbar punctures, I&Ds, central
line insertion assistance, central and arterial line maintenance,
peritoneal dialysis, continuous bladder irrigation, and continuous
IV infusions (pressors, paralytics, sedatives, cardiac drips) -
Patient ratio of 1:2–3; 15-bed unit with an average daily census of
12 - Epic EMR experience required; Pyxis also utilized - Day shift,
3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00) - Every other weekend required -
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed - No
on-call requirements Requirements - Active GA or Compact RN license
required - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Minimum 1
year of ICU experience required - Epic EMR proficiency required -
Copies of required certifications must be provided for
consideration Additional Information - First-time travelers are
welcome to apply - Local candidates are accepted - Navy blue scrubs
required - RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during
the first week of the assignment - RTO blackout period: Spring
Break (April 4–12) - Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major
holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is
expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within
the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them
— major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New
Year's Eve/New Year's Day - Travelers must be away from all
facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year
before returning as a traveler - No alternate shift or scheduling
requests will be accommodated — the posted day shift schedule is
